It’s a beautiful drive up the slope of Mauna Loa volcano to where Kilauea Iki’s caldron still steams over the 70-millenium story of Hawaiian volcanism. We’ll cover Crater Rim Drive to Halemaumau Fire Pit, Thurston Lava Tube, and lava flows of centuries past. We’ll top off the tour with fresh macadamias at the Mauna Loa Nut Factory.
